About us

PPSWF is a voluntary network of professional social workers in the Union Territory of Puducherry. PPSWF is a registered organization (195/2018) under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. PPSWF aims to protect and promote the rights of professional social workers and try to ensure dignified professional career to all the professional social workers in the UT of Puducherry.

Goals of PPSWF

1. Develop, promote and maintain quality standards in social work, social work education, and quality of human resources, to ensure professionalism and make the profession accountable to all its stakeholders and the civil society.
2. Develop and use culture-sensitive methods of social change, such as ecological/integrated social work, management of voluntary organizations, policy and program planning, monitoring and evaluation, social action and participation in movements, training, advocacy, etc.
3. Organize social work knowledge, as an integration of knowledge and action, based on a critical inquiry into practice wisdom, practice-based and participatory research, documentation of best practices, policy analysis and multidisciplinary and applied social science knowledge, in tune with the profession’s values.
